Our instructor Monty Mortimer, is passionate about his subject and dedicated to helping every student succeed. He will create a positive learning environment that encourages engagement that fosters growth.

Monty was one of the pioneers in Thru Tubing / Coiled Tubing Tools in the North Sea and Middle East and has over 40 years’ experience in Thru Tubing Intervention. He started in the Oil Field in 1981 with OTIS Pressure Control specializing in Coiled Tubing & Snubbing. Monty worked his way up to Senior Coiled Tubing Supervisor before traveling to the USA with Tri-State Oil Tools in 1991, successfully completing a 6-month fast track Thru Tubing course. He then returned to the UK and set up the first Thru Tubing Base covering Europe and the North Sea. 

Monty then went on to start the first Thru Tubing base in the UAE in 1992, becoming the Thru Tubing Product line manager for the Middle East. Since then, Monty has worked in various positions, such as Senior Field Engineer for Asia Pacific, Global Technical Advisor, Technical Director, and Senior Thru Tubing Advisor & Assessor. He has overseen numerous international projects, several of which have been documented in technical publications.
